For $500 we found a fairly decent 1993 Ford Festiva, the water pump leaked badly, and the clutch was hardly able to get it loaded onto the trailer. It shows about 11000 miles, (and the odo seems to work) The interior is not great, but there is very little rust on the car. It should be great on gas. If we can get some miles out of the car as it sits, that would be great, then worry about one of the many options for a larger engine. It certainly needs a better gear ratio, as it seems to be reving quite a lot more than it seems to need. It only has a 4 speed trans. We want to put some decent tunes in it, but not too expensive. Nicer wheels and tires would be a bonus. Painting the entire care would be a good idea if he is going to keep this for very many years. The interior needs a bit of attention, quite a lot in the cleaning department. The front seats are pretty trashed and the dash is falling apart. The thing rattles worse than the old Opel Kadet I had when I was young. The exhaust needs a little work since the muffler is rotted out and the car is still pretty quiet.
